Ding Liren net worth-Chinese Chess Grandmaster, Ding Liren was born on October 24th, 1992 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, China.
Ding attended Wenzhou Zhouyuan Elementary School and went on to get degrees from Peking University Law School and Zhejiang Wenzhou High School.
He is the highest-rated Chinese chess player in history and a three-time Chinese Chess Champion, making him one of just three Asians along with Tigran Petrosian and Viswanathan Anand to ever win the World Championship.
He defeated Maxime Vachier-Lagrave in the Grand Chess Tour finals and took home the 2019 Sinquefield Cup, becoming the first player since 2007 to defeat Magnus Carlsen in a playoff.
Ding is the first player from China to ever participate in a Candidates Tournament and surpass the 2800 Elo threshold on the FIDE world rankings.
He was the top-rated Blitz player in the world in July 2016 with a rating of 2875.

Ding Liren career
Ding is a three-time Chinese Chess Champion (2009, 2011, and 2012), and from 2012 to 2018, he competed for China at all four Chess Olympiads, winning team gold in 2014 and 2018, as well as individual bronze and gold in those years.
At the World Team Championships in 2015, he also won team gold and individual silver. After Wang Yue, he was the second Chinese player to enter the top 10 of the FIDE world rankings, and that happened in August 2015.
He was the best Blitz player in the world in July 2016 with a Blitz rating of 2875. He was the first player from China to earn a spot in the Candidates Tournament, the second-to-last round of the World Championship, in September 2017.
He was the only contender without a defeat at the 2018 Candidates Tournament, f inishing fourth with 1 victory and 13 draws.
Ding became the first Chinese player to surpass the 2800 Elo threshold in the FIDE world rankings in September 2018, and in November he attained a rating of 2816, which is tied for the tenth-highest rating ever.
In the playoffs, he defeated incumbent World Champion Magnus Carlsen and went on to win the Sinquefield Cup in August 2019 with 2 victories and 9 draws.
Ding qualified for the 2020-21 Candidates Tournament by taking second in the World Cup for the second time in a row in October of the same year.
He began the Candidates’ competition poorly, though, and came in a tie for fifth and sixth place.
He was a finalist for the 2019 Grand Chess Tour alongside Levon Aronian, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, and Magnus Carlsen. After defeating Aronian in the semifinals and Vachier-Lagrave in the championship match, Ding went on to win the Grand Chess Tour.
Ding was the highest-rated player who was not yet qualified for the 2022 Candidates Tournament after Sergey Karjakin was eliminated.
Ding lacked the necessary number of games for qualification since he was unable to leave China for tournaments because to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the Chinese Chess Association quickly created three distinct rated events to give him the opportunity to do so.
He finished in second place at the competition after bouncing back from a sluggish start to finish with 4 wins, 8 draws, and 2 losses.
Ding’s second-place finish qualifies him to play Ian Nepomniachtchi in the World Chess Championship 2023 because reigning champion Magnus Carlsen declined to defend his title against Nepomniachtchi, the winner of the 2022 Candidates.
He participated in the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2023 in 2023 and lost to Richard Rapport, R Praggnanandhaa, and Anish Giri.
As a result of these defeats, he lost points and his rating fell below 2800; Magnus Carlsen was the only player to still have a rating above 2800.
Ding beat Nepomniachtchi in a tie-break after winning the Candidates, becoming the first Chinese player to ever hold the title. He won the match in the fourth game as black under quick time control.
